My Sweet Valentine

Sorry for the oops, I just realized this message was never posted! My two Toms were so sweet to Elizabeth and I on Valentine's Day. I came home from work and realize that Elizabeth and I both had flowers. Like any girl, Elizabeth really, really loves flowers...

Happy Valentine's Day!
Me in the Bumbo

Wow, these flowers really smell good!

I wonder how they will taste?

Let's just say that Little Tom's flowers did not last very long,

Elizabeth wanted to put all of the flowers in her mouth.

I hope you enjoyed your petals longer than the Powells!

It's My Birthday!!

On February 6th we celebrated the twins' birthday....well, their 1/2 birthday. Elizabeth and Tom visited Dr. B that week for their six month check-up and they are both developing very well!!! I cannot believe their one year birthday will be here before you know it - gosh, time is going by so quickly.

In their Bumbos, Elizabeth and Tom smile for the camera,
not knowing their is a burning cupcake at their feet
Tom is trying to understand what the paper says.
Some how Elizabeth gets the sign in her hands....

Good News

Since the last post, we have seen several doctors and even ventured to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. We remain very encouraged and continue to pray that our sweet little boy will continue to meet and exceed the milstones - just like his big sister. Thursday night we received some very good news from his neurologist - his EEG is normal!!! Based on this EEG, there is no seizure-like activity and we can begin the process of decreasing one his medications. In addition, the cardioligist mentioned there is a very good chance we can eliminate his cardio medicine, as long as Tom continues to show "favorable" EKGs.

We had a sleepover with our Charleston friends Nicole and her daugther Marley. Marley is three months older than the twins and on the verge of crawling. Marley loves Elizabeth, but she was really mesmorized by Tom. You can see more of their pictures on the post from August 14, 2007. As the twins continue to grow and develop, it is truely amazing to see how much they have changed since last fall. The twins are enjoying all of their toys, Elizabeth especially loves her Baby Einstein saucer. She really likes all of bright color toys and the fun nosies!
Here are a few pictures from our evaluation at Egleston:
Stay tuned for pictures from our 1/2 birthday celebration!

Return of the Q-Tip

Last week, Little Tom and I ventured to the neurologist for another EEG. Elizabeth stayed at home with our sweet nanny, which allowed me to focus all of my time on Tom. Similar to our last appointment, Tom was a pure angel. We had the same nurse as before; it took her awhile to remember us, since we left Elizabeth and limo at home - but she said she has been bragging about Tom since our last trip in.
Dr. Berenson was very impressed when he saw Tom - he mentioned his weight gain, his laughter, his sociability, and his eye contact. It was very pleasing to hear him say all of these positive things about Tom, but also said that we still need to keep a steady watch on his development. Below are some pictures from our appointment, with comments added by Tom:
Getting ready for the EEG, her comes the sticky stuff
I am getting all geared up Here comes the head wrap
Check out these Elvis sideburns! Contrary to what I have on my head, I am very happy Mommy gets to hold me while the test is taking place

Look at all the colored wires

The test is over! I wonder what this stuff is going to do to my hair?

My hari is still a little greasy, but Mom loves me anyway -

What a day, I am glad I get to go home now.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
